The GLS network covers 37 countries through wholly owned and partner companies, is globally connected through contractual agreements and acts as the Group’s gateway to Europe, opening up new opportunities.
With its road-based network, GLS is one of the leading parcel service providers in Europe. 37 central transhipment points throughout Europe and 660 depots are at our disposal.
Modern distribution centres are linked to each other via line hauls. Around 1,940 long-haul trucks are on Europe’s roads for GLS on a daily basis. In addition, the Group uses air freight connections. Dense national networks ensure the reliable delivery of shipments in the countries.
Quality in parcel service has top priority for the Group – 212,000 customers rely on it. In the process, GLS puts great emphasis on sustainability: The Think-Green initiative consolidates all Europe-wide activities to protect the environment.
The clear commitment to Europe and to quality is reflected in the milestones of the company history and the philosophy of GLS.
Founded in late 1999, GLS succeeded in establishing a stable European parcel network in just a few years. Today it covers 37 states. Acquisitions and partnerships have since then been milestones in the history of the company. In many countries GLS has founded its own companies - often complete networks, which have immediately gone into full operation.
