Please note that the Royal Mail Group has decided to close the Retirement Savings Plan ("RSP") on 31 December 2009 following consultation with contributing RSP members, the unions CWU and CMA/Unite and employees who are not members of any RMG pension plan. The consultation ran from 7 September to 6 November 2009 inclusive. In early September 2009, all contributing RSP members were written to about the proposal to close the RSP to new members and to future contributions from 31 December 2009. RSP contributing members were offered the opportunity to join the Royal Mail Defined Contribution Plan (the "DC Plan") and also to transfer their RSP personal account to the DC Plan or to another pension provider of their choice. During the consultation period, Royal Mail Group received very little feedback and no criticism of the proposal to close the RSP. Following the consultation, having considered all the comments and feedback received, RMG took the decision to close the RSP from 31 December 2009.
