Royal Mail and Post Office Limited became sister companies on 1 April 2012.

The move is a key element of the reforms being implemented under the Postal Services Act 2011.

Post Office Limited is one of the UK’s most trusted brands. It is the largest retail and financial services chain in the UK. It serves nearly 20 million customers and around 50 per cent of all small businesses each week.

It is the biggest cash handler in the country, with more than £80 billion passing through its hands each year. 

Commercial agreement

Royal Mail and Post Office Limited signed a major commercial agreement this year, which provides continuity and a close working relationship over the long term.

We strongly believe that the commercial success of both companies is best served by them working together closely for the benefit of customers.
