Operations

Stage 1 : Online Application Form

You will need to complete all the following sections for your application to be considered:

  •  General information about yourself, your education and your work experience.

All questions must be answered. We will contact you about your results within 2-5 days.

Stage 2 : Online Test

You will have a scenario-based questionnaire of around 20 questions. You need to choose the response that best fits your personality from the available multiple choice options.

You can’t prepare for this test: it is designed to see if your personality and values are suited to Royal Mail and will also give you a good idea about what Operations is all about.

Once you have completed it, we will send you an email informing you of your results. If you have been successful, we will give you a link to the available telephone interview slots, where you’ll be able to choose the most convenient time for you.

Stage 3 : Telephone Interview

We will call you at the arranged date and time. The interviewer will ask you questions to assess your career aspirations and reasons for wanting to join the Royal Mail Graduate Programme.

We will also ask you competency questions which assess your experience based on our graduate skills. The questions will follow the format of “Tell me about / describe a time when you...”

We will email you your results within 2-5 days. If you have been successful, the email will explain how you can arrange a date to attend the Royal Mail Graduate Assessment Centre.

Stage 4: Assessment Centre

At the Royal Mail Graduate Assessment Centre, we will ask you to complete a range of exercises that will evaluate your suitability for the Graduate Programme. We also want to see if Royal Mail would be the right employer for you. These will include:

  •  Analysis Exercise and Progress Review Meeting
  • Role Play
  • An interview based on your motivations for joining the programme

We will contact you with your results within 3 days.

Stage 5: Interview

If you are successful at the Assessment Centre, you will be invited to an interview with a Senior Managers in your allocated area . The interview will include competency questions (asked in the “Tell me about / Describe a time when you...” format) set against our graduate skills.
