We have measured and reported against our environmental impacts since 2002/03. Over the past 7 years we have vastly improved the way we measure and report our impacts, in line with global standards and guidance from the UK Government. We will continue to improve our measurement and reporting to improve stakeholder understanding of our impacts and performance against our targets, and to increase internal accountability within the business units.

Our carbon footprint is measured using Defra/DECC’s Greenhouse Gas Emission Factors for company reporting. The most recent version can be found here.

We also use the Green house Gas (GHG) Protocol for guiding our emissions measurements and reporting.

Our environmental impacts are reported publicly in the CSR Report and through industry specific reporting schemes such as the IPC Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System (EMMS) on an annual basis.
