Details of Board members
The Group Executive Team's responsibilities include:
- Developing and monitoring deployment of the Group's strategy, annual operating plans and budgets for Board approval.
- Reviewing operational activities and set policies where these are not reserved to the Board.
- Allocating resources, both people and financial, across the Group.
The Group Executive Team consists of the following members:

Moya Greene - Chief Executive
Moya Greene was appointed Chief Executive in July 2010, previously having been President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post Corporation since 2005. Whilst there she led a wide-ranging transformation programme to increase quality of service and efficiency across the organisation. Prior to joining Canada Post she held senior roles at companies including Bombardier Inc and TD Bank.
Stephen Agar - Director of Regulated Business

Stephen Agar was appointed Director of Regulated Business commencing January 2011. Before this he had been Managing Director of Royal Mail Wholesale since the business was first created in April 2006. Stephen is a Barrister who started his career in the Government Legal Service before moving to Racal Electronics plc. He joined Royal Mail in 1991 and previous roles with Royal Mail include Business Strategy Director in Royal Mail's Marketing Division and Regulatory Affairs Director.
Catherine Doran - Chief Information Officer

Catherine Doran joined Royal Mail in September 2011 as the Chief Information Officer. She is responsible for devising and delivering the IT strategy to transform the technology estate to underpin the business transformation agenda. Catherine joined Royal Mail from Network Rail where she led the company-wide transformation programme, aimed at achieving multi-billion pound savings through technology and process changes. Throughout her career, she has held progressively responsible IT leadership roles in a number of blue chip companies – BT, NatWest, Capital One, Logica and Altergo.
John Duncan - Group HR Director

John Duncan was appointed Group HR Director in November 2010, with responsibility for health and safety, talent management, learning and development, industrial relations, rewards and recognition and employee engagement. He was previously Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Canada Post Corporation and a member of the Board of Directors at SCI Group Inc. a leading outsourced supply chain services and network logistics firm. He has held prior senior executive and management roles at Canada Post in Sales, Corporate Security and Operations. John has a BA in Law from Carleton University and an MBA from the University of Ottawa. He is also a Certified Human Resources Professional and a Chartered Director.
Derek Foster - Internal Audit and Risk Management Director
Derek Foster joined Royal Mail in 2002 and is responsible for the corporate audit and risk management activity group-wide. Prior to joining Royal Mail, Derek worked in senior finance and audit roles in General Motors and Electrocomponents plc and before that with Deloitte. He is a chartered accountant, a certified internal auditor, and a certified fraud examiner.
Dale Haddon - Deputy Group HR Director
Dale was appointed Deputy Group HR Director in October 2010 with responsibility for HR in Operations, Commercial and Professional Functions, Group Policy, Employee Engagement and Employee and Industrial Relations. Prior to that he was the HR Director for Royal Mail Letters; Group Talent Director and People & Organisation Development Director for Parcelforce Worldwide. Dale joined Royal Mail in the late 1980s as a graduate, having first qualified as an HR professional. He spent the first few years of his Royal Mail career in the North East of England and has held a number of senior positions in HR and Operations.

Kath Harmeston - Director of Procurement

Kath joined Royal Mail in January 2009. She is responsible for the development and delivery of Group Procurement Strategy and for the Managing our Costs programme. Prior to joining Royal Mail Kath was Head of Procurement Transformation and Defence Partner at Atos Consulting. Kath has significant experience in designing and leading award-winning procurement and supply chain transformation programmes in both the private and public sectors - nationally and internationally. Kath's background lies in industrial chemical research and line roles within procurement.
Mark Higson - Managing Director, Operations and Modernisation

Mark Higson was appointed to the Group Executive Team in November 2007. Mark joined from BPB, the world's leading plasterboard manufacturer, where he was divisional Chief Executive and Group Operations Director. Prior to BPB, he held senior positions at Courtaulds Plc, including CEO at its UK Coatings division. He has also worked at HJ Heinz and British Aerospace. Mark is an engineering graduate of Imperial College London and also holds a Masters Degree in Business from study at the London Business School and the Massachussetts Institute of Technology. He has a passion for safety and health, providing outstanding service and innovation for customers and for delivering operational excellence by utilising the full contribution of all our people.
Matthew Lester - Chief Finance Officer

Matthew was appointed as Chief Finance Officer in November 2010. He was previously Finance Director of ICAP plc for four years. Prior to this he worked for Diageo plc in a number of senior finance roles including Group Financial Controller. He is a Chartered Accountant.
Jon Millidge - Company Secretary

Jon Millidge was appointed Company Secretary in May 2010. He was previously Acting Group HR Director. He is also Chairman of National Design Consultancy Ltd and a Pension Scheme Trustee of the Royal Mail Retirement Savings Pension Plan and the Royal Mail Defined Contributions Plan.
Jon joined Royal Mail in 1985 as a graduate entrant, and has worked across all of the businesses of the Group notably as HR Director in Royal Mail Letters (2003 – 2004), Parcelforce Worldwide (2000 – 2003) and Subscription Services (1997 – 1998) and as General Manager in the Post Office (1999 – 2000). He was Group Director of Employee Relations prior to his current role.
Jon is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and of The Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
Shane O'Riordain - Director of Communication

Shane O'Riordain was appointed Director of Communications for the Royal Mail Group in November 2010. Shane has held a number of Group Communications Director positions in the banking and financial sector, most recently at Lloyds Banking Group plc, and, previously, HBOS, Halifax and Flemings. His experience spans Customer, Business-to-Business and City PR, issues management, internal communications sponsorship and community investment, broadcasting experience and Government relations at both UKand EU levels. He has also worked for the Irish Diplomatic Service in Dublin and Washington.
Emily Pang – Chief of Staff

Emily Pang was appointed Chief of Staff for the Royal Mail Group in April 2011. Emily was most recently at Canada Post where she was Executive Chief of Staff, Office of the President and CEO and the interim Lead Executive for Human Resources. Prior to that she worked at CIBC, a major Canadian bank. Her experience there spanned Executive Director, Business Management in the wholesale business; Senior Director, Investor and Financial Communications, Communications & Public Affairs; as well as positions in Finance and Taxation. Emily is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an Executive MBA, from the joint York University/Northwestern University, Kellogg-Schulich Program.
Mike Newnham - Chief Customer Officer
Mike Newnham was appointed Chief Customer Officer in March 2012. Previously Mike led the Consumer division of Orange in the UK for two years. Prior to that Mike held a number of executive board positions at Orange including running the Consumer Sales and Service operations and leading Orange’s B2B business. Mike joined Orange as the UK CFO.
Before joining Orange, Mike was a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Telecoms, Media and Technology practice. Mike has a degree in Management Science (BA Hons.) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Gary Simpson - Managing Director Parcelforce Worldwide

Gary Simpson was appointed interim Managing Director, Parcelforce Worldwide in March 2012. Gary was previously Chief Customer Officer and Managing Director of our International division. Gary has responsibility for developing B2B and C2C service propositions and improving end-to-end customer experience for Parcelforce Worlwide's cutomers. Gary has worked within Royal Mail Group for over 20 years in a variety of senior roles.
Alex Smith - Director of Business Development & Technology

Alex joined Royal Mail in 2004. He is responsible for helping the Group develop and deliver its strategy. Prior to joining Royal Mail, Alex was a consultant with McKinsey & Company from 1987 until 2004 in the UK and East Asia. During that time he served clients across a range of industries on questions of strategy, organisation and operations. Latterly, during five years in Asia, he focused on Corporate Finance particularly in the financial institutions sector. Alex has degrees in Mathematics from London and Cambridge and an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.
Sue Whalley - Director of Regulation and Government Affairs

Sue Whalley joined Royal Mail in 2006 and was appointed to the Group Executive Team in June 2009. She is responsible for leading development of Group and Post Office strategy and for our relationship with the Regulator.
Before joining Royal Mail in September 2006 she worked at Mckinsey and Company for 17 years, the last 6 of which were as a partner in their London office. She was also co leader of Mckinsey's European Marketing and retail practices.
She has an MA from Cambridge University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
