    Delivering with pride

Royal Mail unveils a special edition ‘Rainbow’ postbox in the heart of London’s Soho to coincide with Pride season. The location of the postbox was chosen by the LGBTI community for its historical and cultural significance.

In celebration of the annual Pride in London Parade this weekend, Royal Mail has unveiled a special edition ‘Rainbow’ postbox on historic Old Compton Street in the heart of the capital.

The Soho location of the postbox, which will be on display for the next month, was chosen by the LGBTI community for its historical and cultural significance. The Company enlisted the help of Gay Star News readers to pick the most suitable location.

The postbox - beautifully adorned in the traditional ‘Rainbow’ pantone colours - will be in full operation during its period of customisation, meaning that fans can be confident that their cards and letters will be delivered with pride.

Andreyana Ivanova, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Royal Mail said: “We are proud to celebrate all forms of diversity in the workplace and are committed to creating a working environment where everyone can bring their whole selves. We’re very excited to share this symbol of pride with the public.”
