With the season of love well and truly upon us, we follow Royal Mail postwoman Shirli Valentine, who is preparing to deliver thousands of Valentine’s Day cards to her local community of Winton, near Bournemouth, this week.

Royal Mail postwoman Shirli Valentine (44) is used to playing cupid in the area of Winton – near Bournemouth – every February.

As she prepares to deliver scores of Valentine’s Day cards and love letters this week, Mrs. Valentine, who has worked as a postwoman for 12 years, genuinely enjoys her designated role of spreading the love in the local community.

Mrs. Valentine commented: “I’m always kept very busy around Valentine’s Day, as cards in particular are very popular on my route. It’s nice to know that I’m seen as a local cupid of sorts!”

Wednesday 13th February is officially the last Royal Mail posting date before Valentine’s Day for 1st Class stamps, and Tuesday 12th for 2nd Class.
